Agricultural Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP)
Financial and technical support for implementing conservation practices on Somerset County farms
The Agricultural Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP) provides financial and technical assistance for the implementation of agricultural best management practices (BMP’s). The statewide program is administered by the Pennsylvania State Conservation Commission. The Somerset Conservation District is delegated to administer the program in Somerset County. The District has an ACAP Committee to review and approve ACAP applications for the program. BMP’s eligible for funding include fencing, stream buffers, cattle crossings, watering systems, manure storage facilities, grassed waterways, cover crops and more.
